Spring
in Brixen
Compared to other places in South Tyrol, the town of Brixen enjoys an early spring, with mild temperatures, lots of sunshine and great opportunities to enjoy this wonderful season to the fullest. If you visit us in spring, we’ll be delighted to show you where the first flowers blossom.

The awakening of nature
It’s not just the flowerbeds in town that are in bloom. Take a stroll and you will come across signs of spring all around. You can set off from Gerharts and make your way through the vineyards in sunny Kranebitt or walk along the Karlspromenade and enjoy the spectacular awakening.

A walk to Neustift Abbey
Follow the course of the Eisack river and the largest monastery complex in Tyrol will appear before you. We especially recommend visiting the cloister, Saint Michael’s chapel, the collegiate church and the library with its exquisitely illustrated manuscripts.

Apple blossoms
The apple trees celebrate spring with a sea of delicate, fragrant flowers. The walk from Brixen to the sunny plateau of Natz-Schabs passes through a series of apple orchards and is an experience not to be missed.

Back on the saddle
Are you looking for somewhere to enjoy your first cycle tour of the year? The valley cycle path along the Eisack river is a great choice. The route takes you comfortably to the south, to Klausen or further on to Bozen. If you have left your bike at home, no problem: you can hire one at the train station.

The Water Light Festival
Artists from all over the world gather in Brixen and transform the town into a sea of lights. Atmospheric light installations illuminate the fountains in the historical centre and around the town. The Water Light Festival alone would be reason enough to come and visit us in spring!
