World Water Day

In 2021 the United Nations World Water Day is themed “Valuing Water”. Everyone is called upon to think about the vital importance of water and its value, especially in ecological, social and cultural terms. What is the importance of water for us humans? How can we protect water resources and contribute to their sustainable use?
In Bressanone and the surrounding villages, people have been thinking about sustainability and environmental protection for a long time. From these considerations the project “Refill your bottle” was born. On the Plose mountain and also in the city of Brixen there are a number of drinking water wells with tested water quality. They are marked with appropriate plaques – guests and locals are invited to fill up their drinking bottles at these fountains. For this purpose, high-quality stainless steel bottles have even been created and are available for purchase. The huts and restaurants also support the campaign and fill up the drinking bottles with fresh water free of charge.
Water is in the focus also in the period from 7 to 30 May 2021, when the atmospheric Water Light Festival takes place in Bressanone.
